Guided walks at Moira Furnace |
|
Taking place in the grounds of this early nineteenth century blast furnace (now a scheduled monument), the guided walks take about one hour to walk through the woodlands and open spaces around the furnace. During the walk, Lynne looks at the wild plants found on the site, and discusses their uses as food or medicines, and the folklore surrounding them. Although the walks follow the footpaths built through the woodland and surrounding fields, the going can be uneven and muddy. We recommend wearing appropriate footwear, such as strong shoes or boots. To book a place on one of the walks, please call Moira Furnace on 01283 224667. |
